I would like to hear more in depth information about PDFs and alternative formats. While PDFs can be read using software, they not "machine-readable" files. We can create labels for tables to mark up the colums and rows and headers. Some prefer not to use them at all. What ideas do people have as alternative formats for sharing textual material such as articles? Is the solution to use well-formated html files for scholarly articles and electronic textual resources?
Could you please publish the title of the journal Leah just mentioned?
The journal I'm at - we're now asking authors for alt-text for images and charts/ tables etc.
